February 13, 2020

The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects defenseman Ryan Dickinson has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for Ohio State University in the B1G.
Dickinson, 20, is in his fourth and final season playing in the NAHL. The 6’4/204 lbs. native of Brighton, Michigan, is currently having his best career season as he has recorded 22 points (3 goals, 19 assists) in 41 games played so far during the 2019-20 campaign.
Dickinson was selected to play in the 2020 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in Attleboro, however with this commitment, he will not play in the event and will be replaced by teammate and defenseman David Breazeale.
“The Mudbugs are proud that Ryan Dickinson will be continuing his education and hockey career at Ohio State. There’s no doubt he’s heading to a quality program in the classroom and on the ice. Before the season started we gave Ryan a few things to improve on in order to move on and we feel he has done that and then some. In our opinion, Ryan is a true product of the junior hockey process. The Mudbugs organization wishes Ryan the best with his opportunity at Ohio State,” said Mudbugs head coach Jason Campbell.
Dickinson made his NAHL debut during the 2016-17 season and has appeared in 184 career regular season games with Shreveport, Brookings Blizzard, and Topeka RoadRunners. He has posted 58 career points in his four seasons.
