Knights and Steel bring home wins on Thursday night

WBS Knights forward Igor Postnov had a hat-trick in a 6-5 win on Thursday night.
WBS Knights 6 @ Maine 5 – The Knights won their fifth straight game and moved closer to a playoff berth thanks to a hat-trick from Igor Postnov in a 6-5 win on Thursday. The Knights never trailed in the game as Beck Moore and Postnov scored 1st period goals. Postnov added his second of the game early in the 2nd period and Lincoln Hatten also scored for the Knights in the middle frame. Postnov then cemented his hat-trick with a goal early in the 3rd period and Tyrone Bronte would score later in the frame in what would be the eventual game-winner. Timmy Kent picked up three assists for the Nordiques in the losing effort and Andrius Kulbis-Marino, Kevin Pitts, Casper Soderling, Ethan Prout, and Filip Lofdahl all scored in the losing effort. Zach Stejskal made 35 saves in the win, while Avery Sturtz made 34 saves in the loss.
Janesville 3 @ Chippewa 5 – Five different players scored for the Steel and Grant Boldt made 33 saves in a 5-3 home win over the Jets on Thursday. Chippewa got out to a 1-0 lead thanks to a 1st period goal from Jacob Dirks. The Jets seized control in the 2nd period as goals from Parker Lindauer and Blake Dangos gave the road side a 2-1 lead after two periods. The Steel then exploded for four goals in the 3rd period, which included tallies from Luke Farthing, Connor Szmul, Spencer Oyler, and Jackson Decker. Xavier LaPointe had the other goal for the Jets. Janesville goalie Grant Riley made 34 saves in the loss.
