The St. Cloud Blizzard of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) proud to announce that forward Ben Ward has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Bethel University.
Ward, 20, joined the Blizzard in a trade this past summer. The 5’10/174 lbs. native of Annandale, Minnesota, played 18 games for the Blizzard this season collecting six points.
Ward came to St. Cloud after spending two seasons with the Minnesota Wilderness. Overall in three NAHL seasons, Ward appeared in 99 career NAHL games and recorded 39 points.
“Ben has lots of potential ahead of him. He’s got good puck skills, good offense ability to be an effective player for Bethel in his college career,” said Blizzard head coach Moe Mantha.
Ward will join the Royals for the 2020-21 season. Bethel plays in the MIAC conference and plays their home games out of the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Ward played two seasons of Minnesota High School Hockey for Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake, which included leading the team to a Class A State Runner-Up finish in 2017.
