Bobcats, Titans win on Wednesday night

New Jersey forward Shane Haviland had two goals in a 5-2 win on Wednesday.
Bismarck 4 @ Minot 1 – The Bobcats moved to the brink of clinching a playoff spot in the Central Division with a convincing 4-1 win. Four different players scored for Bismarck in the win and Bobcats goalie Andrew Miller continued his hot play, winning his 4th straight start and stopping 27 of 28 shots in the win. The Bobcats got 1st period goals from Sam Martel and Tim Piechowski, a 2nd period goal from Austin Jouppi and a 3rd period tally from Will Hillman. The lone Minot goal came from Kevin Ness in the 2nd period. Minotauros goalie Ben Garrity made 30 saves in the loss. Bismarck now needs just a point or a Minnesota Wilderness non-regulation win to clinch a playoff spot. Boxscore
WBS Knights 2 @ New Jersey 5 – The Titans got two goals from Shane Haviland and 32 saves from Ryan McInchak in a 5-2 home win over the Knights on Wednesday. New Jersey jumped out to a 4-0 lead with 1st period goals from Cam Gendron and Haviland. In the 2nd period, the lead swelled to 4-0 as Haviland scored again and Michael Outzen added his 19th goal of the season. In the 3rd period, the Knights tried to mount a comeback with goals from Lincoln Hatten and Anthony Mastromonica, but an empty-net goal from Mitch Machlitt secured the win. Knights goalie Zach Stejskal made 43 saves in the loss. Boxscore
