Lone Star goalie Bailey makes NCAA D1 commitment
March 17, 2020

The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects goaltender Cayden Bailey has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for Michigan Tech University in the WCHA.
“Proud to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey at Michigan Technological University. Thank you to my family friends and coaches who have all believed in me and helped me get here,” stated Bailey.
Bailey, 20, is in his first season of playing in the NAHL for the Brahmas. The 5’11/180 lbs. native of Estero, Florida, had a tremendous regular season for the 1st place Brahmas. Bailey led the NAHL this season in goals against average (1.32), save percentage (.940) and shutouts (11).
Bailey was also selected to and played in the 2020 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the South Division team.
His 11 shutouts tied an NAHL single-season record and his 1.32 goals against average set a new single-season NAHL record.
Bailey was asked about his recent accomplishment in tying the shutout record, which is now shared with former NAHL and current Harvard goalie Mitchell Gibson. “It’s a total team effort, which says even more about how awesome the D-Line in front of me is, and that makes it easier for me to focus in and do what I do best,” said Bailey.
“Both of our Goalies are extremely talented and disciplined. Best in the league, no doubt. Bailey, well that young man is going to break records, pure and simple,” said Brahmas head coach Dan Wildfong.
