Magicians and Bruins win on Wednesday

Barrett Brooks scored his team-leading 8th goal of the season in a 4-1 win on Wednesday night.
Fairbanks 1 @ MN Magicians 3 – Magicians goalie Andy Beran stole the show, making 40 saves, to lead the Magicians to a 3-1 home win over the visiting Ice Dogs. After a scoreless 1st period, all the Magicians scoring came in the 2nd period. Luc Laylin netted the game’s first goal just over three minutes into the period with his 6th goal of the season. Midway through the period, Jack Cronin scored to make it 2-0, and then less than a minute later, a goal from Lucas Kanta made it 3-0. The Ice Dogs finally solved Beran late in the 3rd period as Ty Naaykens would score the lone goal for Fairbanks to make it a 3-1 final. Ice Dogs goalie Kayden Hargraves made 26 saves in the loss.
MN Wilderness 1 @ Austin 4 – Four different players scored as the Bruins posted a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wilderness, 4-1, on Wednesday night. After a scoreless 1st period, the scoring broke open in the 2nd period for Austin while on the power-play as Barrett Brooks scored his team-leading eighth goal to give the Bruins the 1-0 lead. :36 seconds later, Carson Riddle rang up his third goal of the season to make it 2-0. Early in the 3rd period, Peter Jacobs expertly redirected a shot for his sixth goal of the season and the Bruins 3-0 lead. Garrett Dahm got in on the action 47 seconds later with a laser of a shot that improved the Bruins advantage to 4-0. With time winding down in the third, it looked like the Bruins were on their way to a shutout, but with only 17 seconds remaining a shot from Wilderness forward Ethan Wolthers ricocheted off Bruins defenseman Frank Dovorany and fooled netminder Tyler Shea to crack the goose egg. Shea made 21 saves on 22 shots in the game to earn his sixth win of the season while Wilderness goalie Jacob Zacharewicz shouldered the loss after stopping 34 of 38 Bruins chances.
