Magicians move into 1st place with fourth straight win

Kenai River 3 @ MN Magicians 5 – Five different players scored for the Magicians as they won their fourth straight game to move into sole possession of 1st place in the Midwest Division thanks to a 5-3 home win over the Brown Bears in the lone NAHL game on Sunday.
The Magicians jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st period thanks to goals from Jack Cronin and Trevor Kukkonen. The Brown Bears would answer later in the period on a goal from Brandon Lajoie to make it a 2-1 game after one period.
In the 2nd period, the Magicians added two more goals as Hunter Longhi and Simon Falk both scored, while Cam Blanton lit the lamp for the Brown Bears to make it a 4-2 game after two periods.
In the 3rd period, the Magicians lead was cut down to just a goal at 4-3 after Lajoie found the back of the net for the second time, but a late empty-net goal from Hunter Weiss secured the 5-3 win for Minnesota.
Magicians goalie Andy Beran made 27 saves in the win, while Andrew Rose made 30 saves in the loss.
