Generals and Steel pick up wins on Wednesday

Steel forward Grisha Gotovets had a goal in a 3-2 win on Wednesday.
Northeast 4 @ Danbury 2 – Forward Jake Dunlap scored twice to lead the Generals to a 4-2 win in Danbury, salvaging a mid-week series split with the Jr. Hat Tricks. The Generals jumped out to a 3-0 lead, which included 1st period goals from Dunlap and Paul Minnehan and a 2nd period goal from Brent Keefer. Danbury cut into the Generals lead to make it 3-2 midway through the 3rd period thanks to goals from Luke Wheeler and Ben Biester, but an empty-net goal from Dunlap secured the 4-2 win. Generals goalie Hugo Haas was outstanding in the win, making a season-high 47 saves in the victory, while Edward Nordlund made 22 saves in the loss.
Kenai River 2 @ Chippewa 3 – The Steel jumped out to an early lead and then fought off a Brown Bears comeback with a goal late in the 3rd period to pick up a 3-2 win on Wednesday. The Steel led 2-0 after two periods thanks to a 1st period goal from Grisha Gotovets and a 2nd period power play goal from Liam Hansson. The Brown Bears tied the game at 2-2 thanks to two 3rd period goals, both from Adam Szubert. Late in the 3rd period, Braden Lindstrom scored his 4th goal of the season to secure the 3-2 win. Steel goalie Berk Berkeliev made 25 saves in the win, while Luke Pavicich made 29 saves in the loss.
