NAHL Weekend Preview

It is a busy weekend of games in the NAHL as 22 games are on the schedule Friday through Sunday as the push towards the Robertson Cup Playoffs is officially underway.
It was another great week for NCAA Division I commitments, as four more players announced their commitments to the next level. That brings bringing the current season total to 254 players who playing in the league and are committed to playing NCAA Division I hockey in 2020-21.
Teams once again took advantage of some mid-week games as everyone continues to try and get a full schedule of games in for the 2020-21 regular season.
In the Central Division, there is a very intriguing matchup in Aberdeen this weekend as the 1st place Wings, who are 10-0-1 in their last 11 games, host the resurgent Minot Minotauros, who have won five straight games. Also surging up the standings are the Bismarck Bobcats, who are 7-0-2 in their last nine games, as they face the St. Cloud Norsemen in a home-and-home series this weekend. The Austin Bruins will try and carry the momentum from their 6-3 win in Chippewa on Thursday into their home-and-home series with the Minnesota Wilderness this weekend as the Wilderness look to shake off a four-game losing streak.
In the East, plenty of action occurred during the week, but this weekend also offers some exciting games including the red-hot New Jersey Titans putting their four-game winning streak on the line as they host the Northeast Generals. The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks will have their hands full with a three-game series in Maine, and the 1st place Johnstown Tomahawks look to keep their hot play going with two games in Maryland against the Black Bears, who are trying to snap a four-game slide.
In the Midwest, the 1st place Minnesota Magicians put their four-game winning streak on the line as they take to the road to face the Kenai River Brown Bears, who have lost six straight games. The Brown Bears will have a third game on the weekend as they travel to face the Minnesota Wilderness on Sunday. The Janesville Jets hold a one-point edge in the standings over the Fairbanks Ice Dogs and the two teams will clash in Marshall, MN, this weekend. The Chippewa Steel are idle after two games earlier in the week.
In the South, it’s a fairly light schedule as New Mexico and Lone Star face each other in one series, while the Amarillo Bulls will look to slow down the Wichita Falls Warriors in the other series, as the Warriors have won seven straight games. Odessa and Shreveport are idle.
