Wilderness forward Herter makes NCAA commitment

Minnesota Wilderness forward Jacob Herter had three points in two games at the 2021 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament.
The Minnesota Wilderness of the NAHL are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Jacob Herter has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Bethel University.
Herter, 21, just completed his third and final season playing for the Wilderness in the NAHL. The 6’2/170 lbs. native of Hermantown, MN, had his best career NAHL season in 2020-21, recording 24 points (4 goals, 20 assists) in 54 games played. He also posted two points in three Robertson Cup Playoff games.
He was also one of the stars at the 2021 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, recording three points in two games for the Central Division team, which included a game-winning goal.
Herter appeared in 143 career NAHL games over the course of his three seasons playing junior hockey. He posted 53 points (18 goals, 35 assists) in those contests.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Herter played three years of high school hockey in Minnesota for Hermantown High School, helping the Hawks to a Class A State Championship in 2016 and 2017 and a 3rd place finish in 2018.
