Fairbanks defenseman Miles makes NCAA DI commitment

The Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Brendan Miles has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Michigan in the B1G.
Miles, 19, just completed his first season of playing junior hockey in the NAHL for the Ice Dogs. The 5’11/175 lbs. native of Farmington Hills, MI, had a very good rookie season in 2020-21, recording 20 points (5 points, 15 assists) in 45 regular season games.
“I’m extremely proud and honored to announce my commitment to play division one hockey at the university of Michigan. I want to thank everyone who has helped me get to this point! #goblue,” Miles stated on Twitter.
Miles was named to the NAHL All-Rookie 2nd Team and the All-Midwest Division Rookie Team for his efforts.
“This is big for Brendan and the Ice Dogs program,” said Ice Dogs head coach Trevor Stewart. “This is a really exciting commitment for everyone involved. We are super excited for him to have one more year of development in the NAHL with us before moving onto Michigan and playing B1G hockey.”
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Miles played high school hockey in Michigan for Detroit Catholic Central and also appeared in NAPHL events with the MDHL 18U team.
