Brown Bears announce coaching staff for 2021-22 season

The Kenai River Brown Bears, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), have announced that they have promoted Josh Dubinsky to Head Coach.
Moving from Associate to Head Coach, Dubinsky is taking over the reigns for the upcoming 2021-22 season. Coach Dubinsky did an excellent job in helping to guide the Bears through many challenges brought forth from the Covid pandemic.
“Josh has continued to elevate his game, and we look forward to a full season with him at the helm,” stated General Manager Chris Hedlund.
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Dubinsky earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management.
Former head coach Keenan Kelly recently resigned due to family illness and pursue other opportunities closer to home. The organization would like to thank him for his contributions and wish he and his family the best as he moves back to his home state of Idaho.
SHAW HIRED AS ASSISTANT COACH
Taylor Shaw comes to the Brown Bears from the Gillette Wild of the Frontier Division of the NA3HL. Coach Shaw has had experience in multiples roles with the Wild, most recently as Associate Head Coach. He brings a skill set to the Brown Bears that has been gained over his four-year tenure with the Gillette Wild, Team Northwest AAA and Proctor Boy’s High School.
