NAHL Weekend Preview

As the calendar turns to March, just six weeks remain in the NAHL regular season, which has 29 games on the slate this weekend.
The Robertson Cup Playoffs are on the horizon and playoff spots are going to start being clinched soon.
It was another outstanding week for NCAA commitments as four more players made their plans known. So far, a total of 207 players who are playing in the NAHL or are NAHL alumni are committed to play NCAA hockey. That number includes seven players who recently played in the 2023 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament.
The 2023 Robertson Cup Playoffs begin on April 20th. The top four teams in each division will qualify for the playoffs.
In the Central this weekend, the Austin Bruins continue to widen their lead atop the division as it sits at an NAHL-best 14 points as they travel to Bismarck to take on the Bobcats, who are in last place, but just two points out of the final playoff spot. The Aberdeen Wings look to snap a small two-game slide as they host Minot, who is just three points back in the standings. The North Iowa Bulls are just a point back of Minot for the final playoff spot and they will take on the St. Cloud Norsemen in a three-game series.
In the East, the Maine Nordiques moved into 3rd place with an overtime win over Johnstown on Thursday and will play two more times weekend. The 1st place Maryland Black Bears are in Northeast this weekend in a potential playoff preview against the Generals. The final series has Danbury in Philadelphia.
In the Midwest, the 1st place Wisconsin Windigo look to continue their hot play as they travel to Springfield. The Janesville Jets continue their battle for the milk can as they host in-state rival Chippewa with both teams needing wins and points to get into playoff position. The Minnesota Wilderness head to Alaska to take on the red-hot Kenai River Brown Bears with the two teams separated by just two points. The final series has the Fairbanks Ice Dogs traveling to Anchorage to take on the Wolverines.
In the South Division, the top two teams meet again as the 2nd place Lone Star Brahmas travel north to take on the 1st place Oklahoma Warriors. Odessa looks to continue the climb up the standings as they host the New Mexico Ice Wolves. Shreveport looks to maintain their spot in playoff position as they travel to Corpus Christi with the IceRays looking to snap a five-game slide. The final series has the Amarillo Wranglers in El Paso to take on the Rhinos.
