Odessa defenseman Hay makes NCAA commitment

The Odessa Jackalopes, a proud member of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), would like to congratulate Jackson Hay on his commitment to play NCAA Division III hockey for Aurora University. Hay is the sixth Jackalopes player to commit from the 2022-23 season.
Hay, 20, just completed his final season of junior hockey. The Kingston, ON native, spent from 2018-22 playing in the CCHL for the Brockville Braves, Cornwall Colts, and Carleton Place Canadians. For a total of 124 games played and 44 points (8G, 36A).
This past season, Hay would spend his final year of junior eligibility in the NAHL after being drafted by the Odessa Jackalopes (#12th overall). The 6’0”/190lb. right-handed defenseman played in 49 games and registered 20 points (3G, 17A). He finished last season as the highest-scoring defenseman on the Jacks. He was also T-1st in power-play assists with seven.
Aurora University is located in Aurora, Illinois. The Spartans play in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA). This past season, Aurora had two former Jackalopes on their roster (Jack Rudin and Sam Harris). They are led by Head Coach Jason Bloomingburg.
Hay stated this regarding his commitment, “I couldn’t be more excited to commit to Aurora University. I would like to thank my parents, family, teammates, coaches, and everyone who has helped me along my hockey career.”
Head Coach Scott Deur stated this regarding Hay’s commitment, “We are excited for Jackson to continue his playing career at Aurora. They are getting a mobile two-way defenseman that will do great things on and off the ice.”
