Kenai River defenseman Anderson makes NCAA commitment
The Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman and NAPHL grad Luke Anderson has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Bethel University.
Anderson, 21, just completed his third and final season playing in the NAHL. The 6’0/190 lbs. native of St. Cloud, MN, had his best career season during the 2022-23 campaign recording 21 points (1 goal, 20 assists) in 57 regular season games played. He also added one point in three Robertson Cup Playoff games.
During the 2021-22 season, Anderson appeared in 51 games with the Brown Bears and had four points.
Anderson made his NAHL debut during the 2019-20 season on November 30, 2019, while playing in the NAPHL with the Northstar Knights.
During the 2020-21 season, Anderson played 26 games in the NAHL for the Minnesota Wilderness. He was also selected to and played in the 2021 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the Central Division team.
Overall, Anderson played in 136 career NAHL regular season games and recorded 27 points.
He played two seasons in the NAPHL for the Northstar Knights from 2018-20 for the 18U team where he played in 23 career NAPHL games and recorded 19 points. He was also selected to and played in the 2019-20 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game.
