Springfield forward Riva makes NCAA commitment
The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Hayden Riva has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Lake Forest College.
Riva, 21, hails from Lakeville, CT and has been with the Jr. Blues in the NAHL the last two seasons. He played in a total of 97 career games in a Jr. Blues jersey tallying 17 goals and 17 assists while being named an assistant captain during the 2022-23 season.
During the 2022-23 season, he recorded 18 points in 51 games played and during the 2021-22 season, he posted 16 points in 46 games played.
“Hayden has been one of our most reliable and dependable players from the moment he arrived in Springfield,” said Head Coach Todd Pococke.. “He showed up to the rink every day and is a true warrior. Lake Forest just got a wonderful player and an even better young man.”
Hayden joins Jake Peterson (Air Force), James Callahan (Air Force), Tyler Borgula (Quinnipiac), Cole Lonsdale (RIT), Nikita Nikora (Dartmouth), Adyn Merrick (Northern Michigan), and Hagen Moe (Bowling Green) to make an NCAA commitment.
