New Mexico defenseman Benson makes NCAA commitment
The New Mexico Ice Wolves of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Camden Benson has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for St. Olaf College.
Benson, 21, just completed his third season of junior hockey, which was spent between the NAHL and NA3HL. The 6’2/200 lbs. native of Stillwater, MN, had his best career season in 2022-23, recording 14 points (3 goals, 11 assists) in 59 games during the regular season.
In 2021-22, Benson played in eight total games for the Ice Wolves.
During his rookie season in 2020-21, he appeared in 26 regular season games in the NA3HL for the Granite City Lumberjacks, recording seven points.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Benson played high school hockey for Stillwater High in Minnesota and also the Minnesota Loons.
