St. Cloud forward Peterson makes NCAA DI commitment
The St. Cloud Norsemen of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward and NAPHL grad Kade Peterson has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Long Island University to further his playing career with the Sharks.
LIU is an independent NCAA D1 hockey program playing out of the Islanders Iceworks Northwell Health Ice Center in Brookville, New York.
“I am proud and honored to announce my commitment to play NCAA Division 1 hockey and further my education at Long Island University. I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches who have helped through this process,” stated Peterson.
Peterson, 20, has spent the last two seasons playing in the NAHL for the Norsemen. During the 2022-23 season, he led the team in scoring with 50 points (25 goals, 25 assists) in 60 games played.
During his rookie season in 2021-22, the 6’1/190 lbs. native of West Fargo, ND, put up 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists) in 57 games played.
In 117 career NAHL games, Peterson recorded 81 points.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Peterson spent two seasons playing in the NAPHL for the Northstar Knights 18U team. In 27 career NAPHL games, Peterson recorded 13 points. He also had nine points in 12 career Dixon Cup Playoff games and helped the Knights to the 18U Dixon Cup Championship in 2021.
