Kenai River forward Newhouse makes NCAA commitment

The Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Hunter Newhouse has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Gustavus Adolphus College.
Newhouse, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound forward from Minnetonka, Minnesota, came to the Brown Bears early in the 2021-22 season after a trade with the New Jersey Titans. During his rookie season in 2021-22, he played 48 games for the team and had eight goals and eight assists for 16 points.
During the 2022-23 season, Newhouse, 20, played 59 games for the Brown Bears and had 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 points.
He was also selected to and played in the 2023 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the Midwest Division team.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Newhouse played three season of high school hockey in Minnesota for Minnetonka High.
