Shreveport forward Morse makes NCAA commitment
The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Drake Morse has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Utica University.
Morse, 20, just completed his second and final season playing for the Mudbugs in the NAHL. The 6’1/185 lbs. native of Grand Rapids, MI, led the Mudbugs in scoring during the 2022-23 season, recording 51 points (23 goals, 28 assists) in 58 games played.
Morse was also selected to and played in the 2023 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the South Division team where he recorded three points in two games played.
During the 2021-22 season, Morse recorded 15 points (6 goals, 9 assists) in 48 games played.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Morse spent two full seasons playing in the NAPHL for the Meijer AAA (Now Biggby Coffee) 18U team.
In 16 career NAPHL games, Morse recorded 12 points and 10 career NAPHL Dixon Cup games he recorded 16 points, which included leading Meijer AAA to the 18U Dixon Cup Championship during the 2019-20 season.
