Maine forward Murphy makes NCAA DI commitment
The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Kellen Murphy has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Army West Point in Atlantic Hockey.
Murphy, 19, is currently in his second full season playing in the NAHL for the Nordiques. The 5'10/180 lbs. native of Roseau, MN, has appeared in two games so far during the 2023-24 season and recorded four points (3 goals, 1 assist).
“I am honored to announce my commitment to further my education and play Division 1 hockey at Army West Point. I want to thank God, family, friends, and coaches who have helped me along the way,” said Murphy on social media.
During the 2022-23 season, Murphy appeared in 55 regular season games with Maine and recorded 40 points (17 goals, 23 assists).
Murphy made his NAHL debut during the 2021-22 season with the Chippewa Steel, appearing in six games.
He also appeared in various NAPHL events with the Minnesota Blue Ox.
