NAHL Weekend Preview

Fresh off a record-breaking and another outstanding NAHL Showcase, the NAHL gets back into regular season action this weekend with 27 games on Friday and Saturday.
This weekend features the home-opening games for 10 different teams, which includes the first-ever NAHL game in the state of New Hampshire.
Since the NAHL Showcase last week, four players have made NCAA Division I commitments and the NAHL currently has 88 players in the league in 2023-24 who are committed to play hockey at NCAA Division I schools.
In the Central Division this weekend, the defending Champion Austin Bruins open their Central title defense against the St. Cloud Norsemen. In the other series, the Aberdeen Wings have their home-opener as they host the Bismarck Bobcats. Both Minot and North Iowa are idle.
In the East, the New Hampshire Mountain Kings will host the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks in the first ever NAHL games played in the state of New Hampshire. The Division-leading Northeast Generals, who were the only team to go undefeated at the NAHL Showcase, look to keep their momentum going as they host New Jersey. The Philadelphia Rebels will host the Johnstown Tomahawks with both teams entering the weekend with a 3-3-0 record. The final series has the Maryland Black Bears on the road to face the Rochester Jr. Americans. The Maine Nordiques are idle.
In the Midwest, all three Alaska teams continue their roadtrips in the lower 48 as Fairbanks visits Wisconsin for the Windigo’s home-opener. The Anchorage Wolverines are in Janesville to take on the 1st place Jets. The Kenai River Brown Bears are in Springfield as the Jr. Blues open their home schedule still looking for their first win. On Saturday, the Minnesota Wilderness travel to Chippewa to take on the Steel in the lone game of the weekend for those two teams.
In the South Division, the Oklahoma Warriors will raise their Robertson Cup Champions banner as they home their home schedule against the Colorado Grit. The 1st place El Paso Rhinos look to keep their good start going with a series in Corpus Christi against the IceRays. An old rivalry is renewed in Shreveport as the Mudbugs have their home-opening series by welcoming the Lone Star Brahmas. Finally, the New Mexico Ice Wolves are back home for the second time in three weeks as they host the Odessa Jackalopes. The Amarillo Wranglers are idle.
