Tomahawks edge Mountain Kings on Sunday, 2-1
New Hampshire 1 @ Johnstown 2 - The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the New Hampshire Mountain Kings, 2-1 in the lone NAHL game on Sunday. The win earned a series split for the Tomahawks.
Just two minutes into the game, the newly acquired Frankie Hipp wasted no time, securing an early one-goal advantage for the Tomahawks in his very first shift in the NAHL. Assisting him were Will Lawrence and Jeremy LaCroix. As the first period unfolded, goaltender Zack Ferris exhibited his exceptional skills with a series of remarkable saves, maintaining the Tomahawks’ 1-0 lead.
During the second period, the Tomahawks maintained their lead with a power play goal courtesy of Alexey Yarmulnik, who was assisted by Will Lawrence and Justin Rapp. The score remained unchanged as the period came to a close.
In the third period, a goal from Tommy McDonough managed to put the Mountain Kings on the scoreboard, but goaltender Zack Ferris proved to be almost unstoppable, making an impressive 23 saves. Ultimately, the Tomahawks secured a 2-1 victory in the game. Aiden Wright made 29 saves in the loss.
