Bismarck defenseman Rafalski makes NCAA DI commitment
The Bismarck Bobcats of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Matthew Rafalski has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Lindenwood University.
Rafalski, 19, is currently in his second season of junior hockey overall and first season in the NAHL. The 6’1/172 lbs. native of Waupaca, WI, has appeared in 10 games to date with the Bobcats so far during the 2023-24 season and recorded seven points (all assists).

Huge thank you to my parents, my family, coaches, teamates and everyone who have helped me along the way,” said Rafalski.Prior to playing in the NAHL, Rafalski spent last season playing for the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL. Prior to that he played for RB Hockey Academy in Austria and the Green Bay Jr. Gamblers.
He is the sixth player from the 2023-24 Bobcats roster who is committed to play at an NCAA Division I school.
Matthew Rafalski's father is former NHL defenseman Brian Rafalski, who appeared in 833 career NHL games over 11 seasons. Brian Rafalski also played in the NAHL during the 1989-90 season for the Melvindale Blades.
