Lone Star forward Zadvernyuk makes NCAA DI commitment
The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Ivan Zadvernyuk has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Brown University in the ECAC.
Zadvernyuk, 19, is serving as an assistant captain this season, which is his second in the NAHL with the Brahmas. The 6’3/190 lbs. native of Moskva, Russia, has provided a steady presence on the ice and a force to be reckoned with at the face off dot.
So far during the 2023-24 season, Zadvernyuk is 3rd in team scoring with 20 points (6 goals, 14 assists) in 23 games played. He was named the South Division Star of the Week on November 6th after he recorded three goals in a two-game road series in El Paso.
Brahmas Head Coach and GM Dan Wildfong expressed pride and good tidings to the native of Russia. “As for myself and Assistant Coach Logan Murphy, we couldn’t be happier that he has made this announcement because he works hard and this the best kind of news we can deliver to hockey fans. We appreciate everything he does for the team. Congratulations to Ivan!”
During the 2023-23 season, Zadvernyuk recorded 22 points in 57 games played. So far in his two-year NAHL career, he has played in 80 games and recorded 42 points.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Zadvernyuk spent one season with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
