Bulls top Bruins on Thanksgiving Night, 5-3
North Iowa 5 @ Austin 3 – The Bulls snapped a five-game losing streak as they traveled to Austin and beat the Bruins on Thanksgiving Night, 5-3.
Austin was first on the scoreboard as midway through the 1st period, Johan Persson scored his first goal of the season. However, the Bulls had an answer as they scored three straight goals, taking a 3-1 lead through two periods of play as Nolan Grier, Carter Theissen, and Charles Beland all found of the back of the net.
In the 3rd period, Austin cut the lead down to 3-2 on a goal from Gustav Noren, but the Bulls would answer to make it 4-2 on a goal from Ethan Lindahl. Late in the game, Austin made it 4-3 on a goal from Alex Laurenza, but the Bulls would finish it off with a late goal from Blake Ulve to complete the 5-3 win.
Santo Simmchen made 38 saves in the win, while Matthew MacArthur made 20 saves in the loss.
Ulve and Theissen both ended up with multi-point games scoring a goal and adding an assist.
