Mudbugs shutout IceRays on Sunday, 3-0
Shreveport 3 @ Corpus Christi 0 – Kyan Haldenby scored twice and Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau stopped all 17 shots that came his way as the Mudbugs took the rubber match of their three-game series in Corpus Christi by a 3-0 score on Sunday.
Haldenby got the Mudbugs on the board first in the 1st period as he won a face-off deep in the IceRays end and send a centering pass towards the net that deflected off an IceRays defender and into the back of the goal.
In the 2nd period, Haldenby gave the Mudbugs a 2-0 lead as he converted on a 2-on-1 on a nice pass off a neutral zone turnover from Brent Litchard. Five minutes later, the Mudbugs made it 3-0 as Nick Marino found the back of the net with an assist to Wil Murphy.
IceRays goalie Bryant Marks made 28 saves in the loss.
The win helped the Mudbugs solidify 2nd place in the South Division as they now have a three point lead over El Paso.
