Wranglers, Wolverines, Mudbugs win on Thursday
Amarillo 2 @ Odessa 1 – Thanks to 23 saves from goalie Connor McDonough, the Amarillo Wranglers snapped Odessa’s four-game winning streak with a 2-1 road win on Thursday. Odessa took a 1-0 lead in the 1st period with an early goal from James Richman. The Wranglers equalized in the 2nd period as Alexander Papaspyropoulos tied the game at 1-1 with his 7th goal of the season. The game-winner came early in the 3rd period as Jack Ivey netted his 14th goal of the season. Jackalopes goalie Quentin Sigurdson made 21 saves in the loss.
Anchorage 4 @ Springfield 2 – Wolverines forward Danny Bagnole had two goals and an assist to lead his club to a 4-2 road win in Springfield on Thursday. Bagnole scored the lone goal of the 1st period to give Anchorage an early 1-0 lead. The Jr. Blues responded with back-to-back goals in the 2nd period from Logan Sutton and Anthony Ruklic to make it a 2-1 contest. Later in the 2nd period, a goal from Camden Shasby tied the game at 2-2. In the 3rd period, Bagnole potted his second of the game, which would stand as the game-winner and Tyler Hennen added an empty-net goal. Liam Beerman made 31 saves in the win, while JJ Cataldo made 34 saves in the loss.
Colorado 1 @ Shreveport 3 – The Mudbugs got 24 saves from Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau as they won their fourth straight game thanks to a 3-1 win at home over the Grit on Thursday. Kyan Haldenby netted his 12th goal of the season to put Shreveport up 1-0 in the 1st period. Colorado tied the game in the 2nd period on a goal from Christian Carter. The tie didn’t last long as :27 seconds later, Brent Litchard scored to give the Mudbugs the lead back at 2-1. In the 3rd period, Brayden Cook would add an insurance goal. Jack Erickson made 24 saves in the loss.
