Fairbanks forward Lund makes NCAA DI commitment
The Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Marc Lund has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Northeastern University in Hockey East.
Lund, 20, is currently playing in his third and final season of junior hockey in the NAHL. The 6’4/205 lbs. native of Edina, MN, is currently tied for the team scoring lead with 19 points (10 goals, 9 assists) in 32 games played so far during the 2023-24 season.
“I’m honored and proud to announce my commitment to play division 1 hockey and further my education at Northeastern University. I’d like to thank all my teammates, coaches, friends and especially my family for their continued support,” said Lund.
During the 2022-23 season, Lund appeared in 21 games for the Ice Dogs and recorded 11 points.
During his rookie season in 2021-22, Lund made his NAHL debut with the St. Cloud Norsemen, appearing in four games and recording two points. After a trade to Fairbanks, he posted 12 points in 28 games played.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Lund played three years of high school hockey in Minnesota for Holy Family Catholic. He also played youth hockey for the Minnesota Moose and Minnesota Lakers, which included four games at an NAPHL event in 2019-20.
He is the second player on the Ice Dogs 2023-24 roster who has made an NCAA Division I commitment.
