1st place Jets with 5th straight game on Thursday
Kenai River 3 @ Janesville 9 – The Jets got a five-point night from defenseman Conner Brown and two goals apiece from Nick Sajevic and Mason Kesselring as they won their 5th straight game and moved into sole possession of 1st place in the Midwest thanks to a 9-3 win over Kenai River on Thursday.
The Jets opened up a 2-0 lead in the 1st period with goals from Brown and Jake Merens.
In the 2nd period, goals from Kenai River’s Marko Giourof and Kotaro Tsutsumi closed the gap for the Brown Bears, but two goals from Sajevic and two goals from Kesselring, put the Jets comfortably ahead by a score of 6-2 after two periods.
In the 3rd period, the Jets would add three more goals from Noah Gibbs, Ethan Begg, and Haden Kruse to put the game on ice. Owen Hanson had the third goal for the Brown Bears. Both Kruse and Kesselring would end up with four points on the night.
Matthew Alberti made 25 saves in the win, while Conor Sullivan took the loss, making 36 saves.
