Anchorage forward Salo makes NCAA DI commitment

The Anchorage Wolverines of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Oliver Salo has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Bentley University in Atlantic Hockey.
Salo, 20, is currently in his first season of playing in the NAHL for the Wolverines and second season of junior hockey overall. The 6’1/190 lbs native of Kaarina, Finland has appeared in 32 games so far during the 2023-24 season and recorded 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists).
I’m extremely excited to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey and further my education at Bentley University. I would like to thank my family, coaches, teammates and everyone who has helped me along the way,” said Salo.
Salo was recently named the NAHL’s Forward of the Month for December. He totaled 15 points in nine games played during the month, which led all NAHL players. Salo was also a +11 in those nine games, which included five goals and 10 assists. He had four multi-point games, which included a five-point performance in a 7-2 road win over Chippewa on December 30th.
“The pace he plays at, poise with the puck, and ability to get the puck on and off his stick when shooting are the ingredients to his success as of late,” said Wolverines head coach Nick Walters.
He is the sixth player on the Wolverines 2023-24 roster who is committed to play NCAA Division I hockey.
