Lone Star forward Cappello makes NCAA DI commitment
The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) proudly announce that forward Anthony Cappello has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for American International College in the Atlantic Hockey Conference. The towering 6'4", 190 lbs power forward from Ossining, New York, is making waves in his debut season with the Brahmas.
"I am honored to announce my commitment to play NCAA Division 1 hockey at AIC. I’d like to thank my family, friends, coaches, and everyone else who has helped me along the way," said Cappello.
Cappello, 18, has emerged as a force to be reckoned with, accumulating a total of 17 points (8 goals, 9 assists) in 37 games played. Cappello broke out offensively on the second weekend of November where he recorded 3 goals and five points in two games against the El Paso Rhinos. His impact extends beyond just scoring, as he has displayed a commitment to the team's defensive efforts, evidenced by his plus/minus rating of 15.
He joins a growing group of players from the 2023-24 Brahmas roster committed to playing NCAA Division I hockey, bringing Lone Star’s Division I total to six players.
