Janesville forward Sajevic makes NCAA DI Commitment
The Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Nick Sajevic has committed to play NCAA Division I Hockey for Air Force Academy in the Atlantic Hockey Conference.
Sajevic, 21, is playing his 3rd season of junior hockey and 2nd in the NAHL. The Shoreview, Minnesota native began his NAHL journey with the Steel in the 2021-22 campaign, recording 43 points in 60 regular season games in Chippewa. Sajevic made his return to the NAHL this season and is on over a point-per-game pace, tallying 41 points (16 goals, 25 assists) in just 35 games so far.
“I am extremely proud and honored to announce my commitment to continue my education and play Division 1 Hockey at the Air Force Academy. Thank you to all my friends, family, teammates and coaches who have helped me along the way,” said Sajevic.
Sajevic has gone on some larger point streaks throughout the season, none topped by a 17-game stretch from mid-November to late January. Over the course of those games, Sajevic logged 25 points (8 goals, 17 assists) and received nominations for Star of the Week numerous times.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Nick Sajevic spent two seasons in the NAPHL playing with Gentry Academy. That tenure began with the 15U program in the 18-19 season, where he racked up 19 points in 12 games. The following year, Sajevic recorded 37 points in 20 games in the 16U division, also adding 9 points in 5 Dixon Cup playoff games.
Sajevic is the 12th Jet committed to playing Division I hockey. He will be joining a list of 16 other current and former NAHLers who are committed to playing at Air Force Academy.
