Windigo defenseman Theissen makes NCAA DI Commitment
The Wisconsin Windigo of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Carter Theissen has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Augustana University.
Theissen, 20, is a two-year NAHL player, suiting up for both the North Iowa Bulls and the Wisconsin Windigo, playing in a total of 114 games. During his junior career, the Plymouth, MN native recorded 34 points (6 goals, 28 assists). As a prominent defensive core member, Theissen was selected to participate in both the 2023 and 2024 Top Prospects Tournament for the Central Division, scoring one goal in the 2023 event.
“We acquired Carter via trade in January as we looked to strengthen our D core. With his mobility and puck skills, he immediately fit into our group and made us better. He is a great teammate, and I’m really happy for him to earn a spot at Augustana,” stated Windigo Head Coach Blake Hietala.
Theissen is the 14th player to commit for the Windigo this season.
