Windigo forward Pietila makes NCAA DI Commitment
The Wisconsin Windigo of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Everett Pietila has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Lake Superior State University in the CCHA.
Pietila, 20, is a two-year NAHL player, appearing in 106 regular season games for the Windigo, in addition to 13 Robertson Cup Playoff games. The Howell, MI native tallied a total of 77 points (19 goals, 58 assists), including 5 three point games throughout the 2023-2024 season. Of his 14 goals this season, 2 were game winners, while 8 were on the power play.
With this season’s success, Pietila was selected to represent the Midwest Division at the 2024 Top Prospects Tournament in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he was able to net one goal.
“Everett was one of our most consistent players all season. He persevered through a tough beginning to his junior career and became an “every situation” guy for us this year. I’m glad he was rewarded with his commitment to Lake Superior State,” stated Windigo Head Coach Blake Hietala.
Pietila is the 15th player to commit for the Windigo this season.
