Nordiques defenseman Weil makes NCAA DI Commitment
The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Wade Weil has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Maine in the Hockey East.
Weil, 18, began his NAHL career as an affiliate player for the Nordiques during the 2023-24 season, appearing in a total of 5 games, including one Robertson Cup Playoff game.
As a now full-time player for the Nordiques, the Newburgh, ME native has suited for seven games so far this season, including three NAHL Showcase contests this past weekend. During Maine’s battle with the Minnesota Mallards, Weil was able to dish out two assists.
“We are ecstatic to keep Wade in his current home state of Maine for four collegiate years. He’s a very deserving individual as we always say he’s as Elite off the ice as he is, on the ice. Congrats to Wade, and the rest of the Weil family,” stated Nordiques Head Coach Nick Skerlick.
Weil is the 1st player to commit for the Nordiques this season.
