Fairbanks Defenseman Corneillie makes NCAA DI Commitment
The Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman, Thomas Corneillie, has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Western Michigan University.
“I am proud and honored to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey at Western Michigan University,” said Thomas Corneillie. “I would like to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone who has helped me along the way.”
Corneillie, 17, is in his first season of playing junior league hockey. Over his 11 games this season, the 6’1 skater scored one goal and made six assists. Prior to making the move to Fairbanks, Corneillie was a native of California and played with the Fox Motors 16U AAA.
“We are excited for Thomas and his commitment to Western Michigan! This is just the start for him and his successes going forward. His work ethic, team-first mentality, and attention to detail have been instrumental to his development,” said head coach Ryan Theros. “We couldn’t be happier for him and are looking forward to continuing to develop his game!
Corneillie is the fourth player to commit on the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
