Kim, Osborn Lead Bulls to Comeback Win on Wednesday
Minnesota M 3 @ North Iowa 4 (SO) - The North Iowa Bulls kept clawing back all night long and never led until after the shootout as they edged the Minnesota Mallards 4-3. Mitch Vanderway scored first, midway through the opening period as his sixth of the season got the Mallards on the board first. Sangyeob Kim countered six minutes later with his 11th of the year to even the game heading into the break. Drew Beasley had the only goal of the second period which gave the Mallards the lead after 40 minutes of play. Kim scored to bring North Iowa even again but the tie was short lived as Landon Steffen scored just over a minute later to give the Mallards their third lead of the night. The Bulls turned on the pressure late as they tallied 22 shots in the third period and Parker Osborn finally broke through to tie the game with just 1:14 remaining. In the both the first and third round Minnesota scored to put the pressure on the Bulls and each time they responded. Then in the fourth round after a Minnesota miss, Osborn called game and put his team in the win column. Kyle Ozgun finished the evening with 27 saves to earn the win in between the pipes. Zan Spaniol was extremely busy as he ended his night with 47 stops.
