Austin Forward Lipsett makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Zander Lipsett has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the Air Force Academy in the Atlantic.
The 6’4 skater from Lexington, Kentucky will be skating with the Air Force Academy in the 2025-2026 season. Lipsett has played in games for the Bruins over the past two years. This season, the 19-year-old laced up in 51 matchups and produced eight goals and four assists. Lipsett scored one goal on the power play, while one of his goals was named as the game-winning goal. During the 2023-2024 season, Lipsett spent most of his year with the Tri-State Spartans 18U squad, however, Lipsett made two separate appearances for the Austin Bruins. He garnered his first taste of the NAHL on November 11, 2023.
Lipsett shares his excitement of joining the Falcons on social media.
“I am blessed and honored to announce my commitment to further my education, play Division I hockey, and serve my country at the Air Force Academy. I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates who have helped me along the way.”
Head coach of the Bruins, Steve Howard, explains his excitement for Lipsett.
“Our staff couldn’t be happier for Zander on his commitment to the Air Force Academy. He’s worked extremely hard and it is well deserved. He comes from a family of athletes and he knows what it takes to be a high-level player! We look forward to his continuing development here in Austin and we will make sure that he is ready to play NCAA Division I hockey.”
Lipsett is the tenth member of the Austin Bruins to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
