Aberdeen Defenseman Reed makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Aberdeen Wings of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Gavin Reed has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the Air Force Academy in the Atlantic.
As a second-year blueliner for the Wings, Reed will be looking to fly, fight, and win in the fall with the Air Force Academy. Reed is a 6’3 lefty and leads the blueliners on his roster with 35 points on the season. This season he laced up in 64 contests and scored four goals while making 31 assists. Two of his goals were scored on the man advantage and two of them were the decider in the contest. The Dayton, Minnesota native features a +19 rating on the year.
Last season, the 19-year-old suited up in 43 matchups for the Wings. He tallied a goal and four assists for the South Dakota squad. Reed will join a fellow Aberdeen Wing, Cade Moxham, at the Air Force Academy.
Reed shares his excitement of joining the Falcons on social media.
“I am very proud and honored to announce my commitment to further my education, play DI hockey, as well as serve my country at the Air Force Academy. I would like to thank my friends, family, coaches, and teammates who helped me along the way.”
Head coach of the Wings, Scott Langer, explains the development he has seen of Reed.
“Gavin is this team's most improved player. A perfect example of what the NAHL and Aberdeen Wings provide young athletes aspiring to play college hockey. Gavin is going to be a very good college hockey player.”
Reed is the sixth member of the Aberdeen Wings to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
