Colorado Forward Poirier makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Colorado Grit of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward George Poirier has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Brown University in the ECAC.
The leading scorer of the Colorado Grit, Poirier, is heading to Providence, Rhode Island to play with the Brown Bears in the fall of 2026. The 6’3 righty is a second-year veteran of the Grit and is from Arvada, Colorado. He joined the Grit roster in their first season in the NAHL. In that year, he tallied seven goals and made 13 assists over 55 contests. Two of his goals were scored on the man advantage and one of them was the decider in the game.
This past season, the 20-year-old scored a team-leading 26 goals while making 20 assists over 59 games. Nine of his goals were scored on the power play and six goals were named the game-winning goal. The 6’3 forward was named a Top Prospect on the South Division squad at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament. He was able to notch an assist for his South Division squad.

Poirier is one of four members of the Colorado Grit to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
