Corpus Christi Forward Krenke makes NCAA Commitment

The Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Carter Krenke has committed to play NCAA hockey for Saint John’s University in the MIAC.
The 20-year-old skater will return to Minnesota to skate with the Johnnies in the fall. Krenke has experience skating in the NAHL for the past three seasons. The 6’5 righty made his league debut with the Bismarck Bobcats during the 2022-2023 season. He laced up with the Bobcats for two games and scored one goal during his stint. That following season, he returned to the Bobcats for three games before being acquired by the IceRays for the remainder of the year. In his 41 games played with Corpus Christi, he tallied four goals and produced five assists.
This year, Krenke has made a major impact on the South Division squad. So far this season, he has found the back of the net 20 times, produced 32 assists, and features a +20 rating on the year. His offensive prowess was felt at critical times for the IceRays because five of his goals were the decider in the matchups. The Bloomington, Minnesota native was named a Top Prospect for the South Division squad at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament. Krenke scored a goal during the tournament.
Right now the Corpus Christi IceRays have clinched a spot in the South Division Final and Krenke’s offensive prowess on the ice has been a contributing factor to their success in the postseason. He leads the IceRays with three goals for the postseason and is tied first with six total points.
Head coach of the IceRays, Sylvain Cloutier, shares his excitement for Krenke.
“We are excited for Carter! He came to us last year and has continued to develop as a player. Not only is he a great hockey player, but an unbelievable person and teammate. We want to wish him nothing but the best as he joins the Johnnies.”
Krenke is one of eleven members of the Corpus Christi IceRays to make a college ice hockey commitment.
