Lone Star 5 @ Corpus Christi 0 (Lone Star wins South Division Finals 3-0): The Lone Star Brahmas are heading back to Blaine, Minnesota to defend their Robertson Cup title after a dominant 5-0 win over the Corpus Christi IceRays. The onslaught started early as Emerson Marshall deflected a point shot from Zach Rizzo past Benji Motew just over six minutes into the game. Less than 30 seconds later, the Brahmas struck again with another deflected point shot as Trey Gnetz took the shot from the point which was redirected by Kristo Pitkanen to increase the lead to 2-0. Later in the opening frame, off a turnover, Saxton Tess went down along the left wing, attempted to pass it over to his teammate but it hit a skate and got past Motew for a shorthanded tally to give the Brahmas a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes of play. Early in the second, Lone Star capitalized again on another IceRays turnover as Tess took the puck away in the offensive zone, dropped it for Cooper Faughnan who chipped it past Motew to increase the lead. Later in the second period, Rizzo kept the puck in the zone to get it to Pitkanen, he would poke it out to Christian Venticinque who made a nice move to get it past Motew to make it 5-0. Ryan Cameron would pick up his second shutout of the weekend as he denied all 24 shots thrown in his direction. Motew finished with 17 saves on the evening for Corpus Christi.
