Lone Star Goaltender Cameron Named as USA Hockey’s Dave Peterson Goaltender of the Year

Yesterday, USA Hockey announced the recipients of their 2025 Annual Awards. Lone Star Brahmas’ own, Ryan Cameron, was named as the Dave Peterson Goaltender of the Year. This award is given to the best American goaltender in junior ice hockey. Cameron is the fourth player with NAHL ties to receive this honor.
Hailing from the Keystone State, Cameron has served as a keystone piece for the Lone Star Brahmas roster. His work in the blue paint has put him at the top of the leaderboard in almost every goaltender category. The 17-year-old led the league with his 1.35 goals against average, .945 save percentage, and 12 shutouts on the year. He features a 29-8-1 overall record for the 2024-25 season and has been recognized as one of the top goaltenders for the upcoming 2025 NHL Draft.
The Boston College commit will be named in the all-time record books for the NAHL. His 12 shutouts rank him first for most shutouts in a single season (including playoffs). Additionally, his work between the pipes during the regular season places him second overall in goals against average (1.24) and save percentage (.948). He sits behind fellow Dave Peterson Goaltender of the Year recipient, Jake Sibell, in both of those categories.
The Goaltender of the Year award is named after Dave Peterson, former Director of Coaching and Player Development of USA Hockey and Coach of the United States Men’s National Ice Hockey Team. Cameron will be recognized at the USA Hockey’s President’s Award Dinner on Friday, June 6, 2025 in Denver, Colorado.
