Anchorage Forward Riego De Dios makes NCAA Commitment

June 16, 2025

The Anchorage Wolverines of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Romulus Riego De Dios has committed to play NCAA hockey for Amherst College in the NESCAC.

The 6’1 lefty from Gahanna, Ohio will be skating with the Mammoths in the fall. The 21-year-old is a second-year forward for the Wolverines. He has laced up in 61 games this season, tallying 11 goals and 11 assists. Last season, the Ohio native hit the ice for 48 games for the Wolverines and found the back of the net 14 times while producing six assists. Prior to skating in Anchorage, Riego De Dios was a member of the Colorado Grit. He played in 24 games for the Colorado team. He notched seven goals and made three assists.

President of Wolverines, Isaiah Vreeman, shares more on what he has seen from the second-year skater on the ice.

"Romulus brought a cerebral approach and relentless edge to the ice every night. Amherst is getting a player who leads with integrity, competes with heart, and thinks the game on a different level.

Riego De Dios is the eleventh member of the Anchorage Wolverines to make a college hockey commitment.
