Rochester Defenseman Diflorio makes NCAA Commitment

The Rochester Jr. Americans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Demitri Diflorio has committed to play NCAA hockey for SUNY-Geneseo in the UCHC.
The New York blueliner is staying in the Empire State and will skate with the Knights in the fall. The 6’0 righty is a first-year skater on the Jr. Americans. He hit the ice for a total of 57 games while tallying three goals and 16 assists for Rochester. Diflorio features a +9 rating on the year and will be joining two other NAHL skaters in the fall, Jackson Stimple and Daniel Bagnole from the Anchorage Wolverines. The 21-year-old spotlighted his best game early in the season with a four-assist performance against the New Hampshire Mountain Kings in September.
Head Coach of the Jr. Americans, Francois Methot, shares more on the development he has seen from Diflorio this season and his excitement to join the New York program.
“Dimitri is an extremely talented defenseman who will thrive under Coach Chris Schultz at Geneseo. With their program’s style of play closely mirroring ours, the transition should be seamless for him. We're very excited that he chose a strong local program to continue both his hockey career and academic journey.”
Diflorio is one of seventeen members of the Rochester Jr. Americans to make a college ice hockey commitment.
