Maine Forward Kozlina makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) is proud to announce that forward Shane Kozlina has committed to play NCAA Division I for Colorado College in the NCHC.
The 5’11 lefty from Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, will be lacing up with the Tigers in the fall at Colorado College. Kozlina is a third-year veteran of the NAHL. He has spent the past three seasons with the Maine Nordiques. However, he is no fresh face to the NAHL’s family of leagues. He played three seasons in the T1ER, with his third and final year with the Maine Nordiques 18U team.
This past season, the 21-year-old hit the ice in 68 games with Maine. He found the back of the net 18 times while producing 32 assists. Two of his goals were named the decider in games, and he tallied five goals while on the man advantage. The ‘04 skater was named as a Top Prospect on the undefeated Selects Black team at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament.
Last year, Kozlina laced up for 63 games with the Nordiques in his first full season. The 5’11 forward registered 13 goals and 29 assists. Two of his goals were scored on the power play, and he featured a +25 rating for the season.
During the 2022-23 season, Kozlina tendered with the Nordiques in 2023. Following tendering with Maine, he got to experience nine games with the NAHL team. In those nine games, he produced two assists for the Nordiques.
Kozlina shares his excitement to join the Colorado College Tigers on social media.
“I am very proud and blessed to announce my commitment to further my education and play Division I Hockey at Colorado College! Huge thank you to God, family, friends, coaches, teammates, and advisor for all the support along the way.”
Head coach of the Nordiques, Nick Skerlick, shares his excitement for Kozlina’s next step in his hockey playing career.
“It’s been a very good three years with Shane. Seeing the process of him dominating at the academy level was very fun during the 2022-23 season. There seemed to be a lot of doubt on how he would do at the next level. Shane has remained resilient in his two years at the NAHL level. Taking the step up a level from the NAT1HL with him, I felt Shane and I always had a healthy relationship leaning on each other for success. We are ecstatic for another kid to run through the academy into the NAHL, and now to the ultimate stage of Division I college hockey. We’d like to thank the Kozlina family for the three years. Shane will be sorely missed, especially after three seasons! Congrats to the Kozlina family!”
Kozlina is the ninth member of the Maine Nordiques to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
