Maine Forward Stenberg makes NCAA Commitment

The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Michael Stenberg has committed to play NCAA hockey for Connecticut College in the NESCAC.

The Massachusetts native is heading to New London, Connecticut, to skate with the Camels in the fall. The 6’1 righty is a first-year skater for the Nordiques. Stenberg laced up in 65 games for the Nordiques, tallying 16 goals and 13 assists. Nine of his goals were scored on the man advantage, while four goals were named the decider in contests.

Head Coach of the Nordiques, Nick Skrelick, shares what he has seen from Stenberg this season.

“Mike is a great story! Advancing to the USHL as one of the younger players, I remember him going into that league, he had a lot of experiences, some negative, and some positive. Mike took his fourth season of junior hockey and embraced the moment in the NAHL. He didn't worry about anything except the day-to-day. Played through soreness, sprains, and joint injuries without hesitation. Fantastic competitor, teammate, leader, and friend. Congrats Mike! We know you will do great things at Connecticut College.”

Stenberg is one of the thirteen members of the Maine Nordiques to make a college hockey commitment.
