Wisconsin Goaltender Szyszka makes NCAA Commitment

August 21, 2025

The Wisconsin Windigo of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that goaltender Lucas Szyszka has committed to play NCAA hockey for Lake Forest College in the NCHA.

The 6’2 netminder from Westmont, Illinois, will stay in the Land of Lincoln to play for the Foresters in the fall. Szyszka played an integral role for the Windigo and played in the blue paint for Wisconsin in 48 games. He featured a 33-9-2-3 record, notched a 2.32 goals against average, and a .911 save percentage. The ‘04 goalie produced five shutouts on the year for the Windigo. Szyszka was also named as a Top Prospect for the Midwest Division roster at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament.

Thanks to his help between the pipes this season, the Windigo clinched the Midwest Division title and made their first Robertson Cup appearance.

Szyszka is one of 13 members of the Wisconsin Windigo to make a college ice hockey commitment.
