Shreveport Defenseman Wise makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Bode Wise has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Ferris State University in the CCHA.
The 6’0 lefty from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has committed to skate for the Ferris State Bulldogs. Wise is a first-year blueliner in the League of Opportunity. He hit the ice in 62 games, tallying three goals and 14 assists in his first year of junior hockey. The ‘06 skater featured a +13 rating on the season for the Mudbugs.
He went into detail on what it meant to get the opportunity to secure a Division I commitment.
“It means so much, it's one of those things that you work towards since you're ten years old, you know. It's always a dream and you're always going to work towards it. And for it to finally be granted and for someone to be able to grant you that opportunity and believe in you, it just means so much.”
Wise also shared his excitement about joining the program on social media.
“I am honored to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey and further my education at Ferris State University. I would like to thank God, my family, friends, teammates, coaches, advisors, and everyone else who has helped me get to this point.”
Head coach of the Mudbugs, Jason Campbell, explains what he has seen from Wise this season.
“Bode is a dynamic defenseman and a dynamic person. He’s a very mobile defenseman with a great IQ. He can advance pucks by using his feet or by seeing and hitting his options. Bode has leadership qualities and great character that any coach would love to have in their locker room and on the ice.”
Wise is the fifth member of the Shreveport Mudbugs to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
